I would change the way we produce energy, if we had the technology we have now during the industrial era, I would imagine we would fundamentally be more adverse to burning fossil fuels to create energy.

Our throw-away mentality. Products used to be more expensive, but were designed to last a lifetime, rather than as today where they are designed to be low cost but people then throw them away and get a new one. I can understand that with things like mobile phones where the technology changes so fast, but for something like an electric drill, I had one which lasted me over 25 years. I only got rid of it because I couldn’t get the part I needed to repair it any more. I got a new one and that only lasted 2 years before breaking, and it can’t be repaired, so I have to buy yet another now. They all do the same thing – drill holes, so why can’t they be properly engineered like they used to be?
