      Engineering is a competitive field but from my experience most people do work together to achieve the final goal of project etc.

      100s of other people applied for the job when I did so it is quite competitive. A lot of the people who applied though may not have been suitable in the first place however. Certain roles though could have people from various backgrounds fulfill the role so being so specialized may not make getting the job so easy

      My research team are the only group in Europe specialising in turbocharging, although there are some other groups who work on related subjects such as compressors and turbines
