I work for Manufacturing Technology Centre. My job is usually to develop processes to improve manufacturing processes or maybe come up with a amchine no-one’s ever done before. We’re sitting in a gap between academics and industry. A normal engineer would probably do a similar job every day, for example CADing an already existing part, or writing code for a machine.

Generally speaking my job is to prove something can work in a given situation, normal engineers work a step after me when they know something does work.
